Changing Careers, Changing Image

By Angela Marshall, 8th May 2009

I have recently come across quite a few people who are setting up their own business. This often means their lifestyle is going to change and their personal image may well need to adapt to suit their new business. I know when I left banking to become an image consultant my wardrobe changed somewhat as I had always needed to wear suits and then working several days a week from my studio meant I needed to have a less formal image.

You need to think how your personal brand needs to fit in with your business brand and to have a wardrobe to compliment this. It does not mean you need to spend lots of money on clothes, more that you learn to adapt and use your clothes in a different way.
