Etiquette Friday – Manners help Us through the DayBy Angela Marshall, 10th Aug 2012
It’s Friday and the day I request you join me in my campaign for 2012 to change “Casual Friday” to “Etiquette Friday”, to get people and companies involved. If we consciously make an effort every Friday then hopefully it will become a habit every day. I challenge you to make one small change a week and by the end of the year let’s hope we have a more pleasant and positive society.
When we get up in the morning our moods can affect how we react to people, but each day can be much more pleasant if we are polite and respectful to one another. From greeting people when we meet them in work, at the train station, to being served in a shop, or eating in a restaurant or holding a door open.
In today’s fast paced lifestyle we need to adapt to various situations, however being polite makes the day more pleasant to ourselves as well as those we meet. It shows respect, consideration and thoughtfulness to our fellow citizens.
There is also another aspect we need to consider:
Personal Image – your outward appearance gives out lots of information about who you are and how you respect yourself and others around you. It is not only an important aspect of how we present ourself; it also reflects the importance we attach to the situations and people around us.
When we appropriately consider those around us it makes a world of difference to the outcome of the day.
