Using Your Mobile When being Served
By Angela Marshall, 4th Jul 2013
Last November as part of my Etiquette Friday campaign I mentioned people suing their phones whilst being served in a shop, today I read in the Daily Mail that an unnamed woman operating the checkout at a Sainsbury ‘store refused to serve a female customer. Good on her! Unfortunately Sainsbury’s gave the customer a £10 voucher when she complained. Surely the customer, Jo Clarke, should have apologised. What does this message give out to other customers and staff?
What image are we giving to others about ourself? Has our society become a very “Me me” society? Are we thinking about ourselves and no consideration to others? Good manners is about treating others as we wish to be treated and giving consideration to others.
